Dr. Nixon Cesar is the Pastor of Christian Faith Fellowship. Raised in Brooklyn, New York, he has served in several capacities in the local church for many years. He has been a chaplain, youth pastor, evangelist and associate pastor. His journey began when he was saved and baptized at the age 17 and was mentored by his mother who would visit local hospitals and travel internationally to pray for the sick. It was during those early days that seeds were sown in his heart. He received his theological formation under Dr. David Spencer, studied Biblical Greek under Dr. Douglas Stuart, and Biblical Hebrew under Dr. Seong Hyun Park. Dr. Cesar has a solid expository, yet practical, style of preaching, all encompassed by personal passion and energy. His Doctor of Philosophy dissertation focused on “The Foundation of Christological Monotheism in the Old Testament.”
In January 2004, while studying at the Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary, Dr. Cesar accepted the invitation to join the ministerial staff of Boston Missionary Baptist Church in Boston, MA, where Rev. Soliny Vedrine is the senior pastor. There, he served as the Youth and English Pastor and provided training for all youth and young adult leaders and teachers. Although he was there for just two years, fruitful ministry resulted in every area of ministry in which he served. Most notably was the young adult ministry, which originated with and grew under his leadership. His young adult ministry was featured in the Church on Fire Christian radio broadcast. Dr. Cesar was also the keynote speaker for Congress 99.
Dr. Nixon has three wonderful children, Abigail, Josiah, and Benjamin. In their spare time, they enjoy spending time together, singing spirituals by the old acoustic piano and catching a good movie. Some random facts about him include his love for homiletics, the biblical languages, systematic theology, and music. His Myers-Briggs typology is ENTP (Extraverted iNtuitive Thinking Perceiving; see for an overview of this personality type). He has a natural skill for organizing people and institutions and to work with others to translate ideas into workable systems and to get others to buy into a shared common vision.
